Can anyone please tell me if there are records online to see who owned property in Londonderry/Derry in the 1920’s/30’s….I’ve looked and as far as I can see going back that far you have to go to the land registry office to view paper copies. Any help in this would be great.
Thanks in advance Argyle

I am not sure the Land Registry will necessarily have the information you want. Land Registration has only been compulsory in Northern  Ireland since the 1990s.

The Valuation Revision records on the PRONI website show a William Neely at that address between at least 1910 and 1931. A house and yard. VAL/12/B/33/2E.

Another option might be to check that electoral registers. They are not on-line but PRONI have copies. Personal visit probably required or pay a researcher to look them up.

Thank you Elwyn for the info.
As far as I was aware my family the Cassidy’s lived at the property from 1915 until my granny passed away in 1962 my mother was born there in 1929, and I know that because of her birth cert.
Thank you again.
Kind Regards Argyle

I’m really confused now, My mothers brother died there in 1919 also and a few more of her siblings who died between 1918 into the 1920’s.

A newspaper memorium notice for a child confirms that Cassidy and Nash family members were at that address in 1927.

Added... several mentions of the Cassidy members in the Derry Journal over the years.
