Hi
I'm struggling too.
I can see Gabrielle Lorraine Le Roy Alien ID card 1941 Deauville St Lukes born 21.8.1923
Which is available to purchase from Jersey
https://catalogue.jerseyheritage.org/collection-search/?si_elastic_detail=archive_110046899
Obviosly haven't done that but there may be more Info on that.
At the same Address is
Charles Louis Le Roy born 28 July 1925  .presumably a brother.
https://catalogue.jerseyheritage.org/collection-search/?si_elastic_detail=archive_110046898
He died at St Peter 26 Dec 2017 as Charles Auguste Louis Le Roy.

If we take that as a starting point
Charles Louis Auguste Le Roy born 1863 basket maker married Marie Louise Le Begue age 24 at St Hellier .Father Laurens Francis Le Roy poulterier

In 1901 they are at St Peter Port Guernsey
Charles Le Roy 35 basket maker France
Marie 30
Anselmo 13
Bertha 11
Louise 9

1911 St Hellier
Marie widow 49
Anselmo 22 (died 14.6.1929 New St St Helier)
Charles 9
Frederick 7.

In 1921 there is only one family who could be yours in Jersey (forgive me for not putting the full details but I'm worried about copyright).
Florence Maude Le Roy married 27
Florence May 3

There is no father/husband and I can't find a marriage but I'm willing to bet he is one of the sons of Charles Louis Auguste Le Roy and Marie Louise Le Begume.

Hopefully the ID cards from  WWII will give you more info and enable you to check the earlier generations.

ps there are also Alien Reg cards for Anselm and Marie Louise with nice photos on the same website. And it turns out Anselme was the husband of Florence Maude and father of Florence May.

Hi,
If Gabrielle was an alien and said born in Deauville , I guess it is Deauville, Calvados , France.
Unfortunately there is no Gabrielle Leroy in the decennal tables of Deauville from 1913 to 1932.
https://archives.calvados.fr/ark:/52329/nl9rh321q8bk/cddea2a3-09ef-400f-98ad-5f1a2e4fa92f
https://archives.calvados.fr/ark:/52329/1qm5vzbg2n9c/21727929-bfd8-4bf8-9857-0483f2a0369b

The registers for these dates aren't digitized yet.

But there is no Gabrielle Leroy in the decennal tables from 1913 to 1932,, only a Guy Christan born in 1927.

You can ask Deauville's mairie if they have her birth 21 august 1923 in the registers ( in case her birth was forgotten in the tables) and if so ,ask for a copy  ( the birth certificates are now available 75 years after the cliosng of the registers).

If they don't have it then you may consider that the infos on the alien card are incorrect.

Hello
The 1941 Alien Cards were issued by the Germans and all the people on Jersey would have had one.
It doesn't imply that she was born off island.
Deauville could have been an address on Jersey.
A House named after the place in France perhaps.

Aliens cards and the identity cards issued by the German occupiers were 2 completely different things. Alien's cards were issued in 1920 and were held by all aliens over the age of 16. Occupation reg cards had to be held by everyone who stayed in Jersey between 1940 and 1945 once they were over the age of 14.

The address Deauville is on the reg card and was the name of the property occupied by Gabrielle, Charles Louis and one Louise Madeleine Rochefort, probably née Le Roy and a daughter of Charles Louis Auguste. The reg card gives the information that both Charles Louis and Gabrielle were born in St Helier while Louise was born in France.

It seems unlikely that Gabrielle and Charles Louis were children of Charles Louis Auguste and Marie Le Begue as Marie would have been in her mid 60s when Gabrielle was born.

Louise Rochefort's alien's card is interesting. Aliens had to inform the authorities when they left the island and Louise's card shows her leaving for England in 1947 and 1949 to visit Mrs G Ingram at Napier Square, North Camp, Aldershot.
