Skinners of Syston Lincolnshire
« on: Tuesday 26 August 25 15:34 BST (UK) »
I am currently researching Thomas Skinner born 1670, Syston, Lincolnshire. Spouse Jane Benskyn circa 1670. There were 8 children born.

I would be grateful for any guidance or assistance provided. Specifically, I'm hoping to locate: Thomas' parents. Any info related to parish records (baptisms, marriages, burials) for the Skinners in Syston or surrounding parishes during the 1600s is certainly welcome.

Parents were Joan Hubbert (b. 1645) and Thomas Skinner (1641-1672).

They married on the 15th May 1666 in Frisby, Leicestershire.

His parents may have been John Skinner and Elizabeth (?) of Syston.

Checking in with update.
With your assistance the following details have emerged: Rychard Skinner 1563-1639 of Queniborough, Leicestershire marries Ales Croson 6 Sept 1584 . I continue to search for a link between John Skinner of Syston, Leicestershire(married to Elizabeth ?-1663) and Rychard 1563-1639 of Queniborough, Leicestershire. Marriage and will probate records for R. Skinner 1563-1639 are available but his children's births & baptismal records elude me. I do believe the church, St. Mary's of Queniborough, Leic. but birth records do not appear. Perhaps I am looking in wrong place.

1st:Rychard's will is detailed but how to read :(
2nd: John Skinner is so common a name , how to determine if I have the right one. John's children's' names indicate to me I am closing in but John's parentage is proving a challenge without facts.
Once again, any direction is appreciated
