WW1 Italian Soilder - Look up and unform ID
« on: Yesterday at 12:55 »
Hello,

I am trying to understand this ancestor a little more. In particular trying to understand his military career and establish if he had a wife. I am hopeful someone on here may know more about military uniform and military records for Italy.

The photo below is of Carlo Fasolato. Father is Antionio Fasolato. He has two siblings - Luigi and Cesare. His sibling Cesare was born in 1845 so I can assume he was also born in the 1800s. But that is as much info as I have.

Does anyone have access to or know how I could best obtain his attestation papers etc?

If anyone has any knowledge on his uniform that would be so greatly appreciated?

I have only ever researched my Irish ancestors and that information seems so much easier to find. I am a bit stuck with the Italian side.

Many thanks

Not sure but medals look like Italian ww1 medals and hat/badge possibly alpine corps (looking on google).
I think if he was born mid 1800s he would have been too old for this picture if ww1.
Several records on Familysearch, perhaps worth looking for his brothers too.
There is this one , with a Cesare with same parents , maybe if you know his wife's name and children you could find more out about him.

Hopefully other Rootschatters may be able to help with war records.
