Turnbull family Corsenside parish
« on: Thursday 21 August 25 19:14 BST (UK) »
Hi I'm researching my Turnbull ancestors on Corsenside. I have Mabel Turnbull born 1756 in Elsdon the daughter of Culthbert Turnbull and Esther Forster.  I know that Cuthbert married Esther in 1751 and that they were living in Whetstone House. The Forsters were a prominent farming family in the area. i've found a will for an Ann Turnbull on Corsenside at West Woodburn but cannot find a birth for Cuthbert. Anyone got any clues as to his origins?

I've come across a child born to Cuthbert Turnbull and Esther Forster prior to their marriage. From FreeReg I found a Bishops Transcript for Corsenside showing a Bastard son Joseph privately baptised 23 Jan 1750 and received into the church 05 Jan 1763.
