Parents of Thomas Tuffrey/Turffrey b. 1785, Leafield, Oxfordshire.

Anyone help with this?
Thomas Tuffrey/Turffrey (various spellings) b. 1785, Leafield, Oxfordshire to Thomas Turffrey and Rebecca. Other children seem to be Adam 1787, Rebecca 1790, Joseph 1793 and David 1795. I have found a marriage of Thomas Turffrey to Rebecca Bosely, 1 Aug 1770 in Shipton Under Wychwood which is 3 miles from Leafield. However, this would imply the couple didn't have any children until 15 years into their marriage, which seems unusual. Anyone find other children to Thomas and Rebecca to fill this gap, or another Thomas and Rebecca with a marriage nearer to the 1st child in 1785?

I was very interested to read this as my 4 x Great Grandmother was Mary Turffrey, born approx 1774 in Leafield, Oxfordshire.  I've never been able to confirm parents or siblings for Mary.  However I do have DNA matches to people descending from a Thomas Turffrey b 1755 in Leafield, who had a son Thomas b 1785 in Leafield. 
So I'm sorry that I can't answer your specific question, but I was wondering if you are aware of how my Mary Turffrey connects to your Thomas Turffrey?

Thanks for getting back to me.  It's been a while since I looked at the Turffrey branch of my tree so I will have another look and see if I can find anything to help you.  I was in contact a few years ago with two other people who were researching the name, I will get back to them and see if they have any updates.  Will let you know if I get anywhere.

There is a tree on Family Search that gives:-

-Adam Turfery, batpised March 16th 1787, Leafield, Oxfordshire, the son of Thomas Turfery and Rebecca Bosely. It notes a brother, Thomas b. 1785 in Leafield, Oxfordshire.

Also in the tree is the marriage to Rebecca Bosely, August 1st 1770, in Shipton-Under-Wychwood.

Like you, I can't find any mentions of children prior to 1785 which seems weird to me.

Yes, I had noticed that marriage to Rebecca Bosely, and Shipton Under Wychwood is only 3 miles from Leafield where Thomas and Rebecca's children are bapt. But like you, I found the gap of 25 years from marriage to 1st child not feasible.
