Who are all the Gawthorp children with in 1871/1881?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Using the info in Reply 4 you can  look for her on the 1851 census.  She is easily found using the birthplace given in your opening post

https://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/places/regindex2-2.pdf shows her birthplace came under St Ives RD & there is a probable birth on freebmd

They were living together in 1881, in Histon,
.....but in 1871 Mary Ann was in Chatteris and William in Histon.

Im confident that James & Mary Ann Allen are her parents, thank you.

and it looks like James married Mary Ann Steadman in 1939, St Ives, Hunts.
