Really don’t think that I am going to find this guy’s parentage. So I thank you all for your help..
After adding the Newspapers to my subscription with FindMyPast , I found his case in the
Weston Gazette. I was pointed in this direction, by one of your good selves.
It is quite a long article, and I am not very adept at “snipping “ but the gist of it is,
He was having trouble in his love life. He had discovered that the girl he married “Bertha” was “not the girl he thought she was “ He was in love with someone else.
He was sent away, and advised to “settle up with her, and marry the one he wanted”. He was very depressed on his return.
I think that this is the answer to who his sister, really is. Our mystery lady Miss Eastham…….
I really don’t think, that the birth certificate I sent for is my man. Too young, so back to the drawing board. At least I will have the newspaper article to give my grandson ( when I have snipped it ) I went through every Charles Clarke in Islington this past few days, hoping to come up with something, but I was utterly defeated.
I really do not know where to go from here. I am now looking, again , for a Ralph , named on his marriage certificate.
