added, if that is his birth then his parents Annie Kirkland & Peter Fernandes did not marry until 1947. Annie 1st marries Archibald Lythgoe in 1919.

Working forward from 2003 on GRO, this looks like the only possibility for Vera/Veronica's death:

in which case Billiongraves' transcription is incorrect, but their image quality is sometimes poor (not a problem unique to any one grave listing site -- some people snap away furiously to get as many graves entered as possible).
