I’m impressed with three generations of twins KG… I thought it missed a generation usually. Intuition between twins must be a little scary at times!

It's actually 4 generations!
Mum was a twin, but her sister was registered as Stillborn.

Check Guinness World Records for "Most Consecutive Generations of Twins!"
We are joint record holders. ;)

Wow that’s some recorded to hold, not everyone gets to have their names listed.. congrats.

Hope all goes well after your cataract surgery Caw.
I always wonder how those people in third world countries we used to see on T.V, having the operation sitting in the dust in blazing sunshine .
Aren’t we lucky .

Did a four minute mile today, son shouted downstairs that a little tot from the other side of the street was running up and down and no sign of an adult.
She runs off like that frequently ,but parked cars nose to tail and traffic going up and down - had she left the pavement any driver would not have seen her come from between two vehicles until it was too late ,No sign of her mother. She is two!
I dashed out and got hold of her, mother was there but hidden from me by a van.I explained to her mother we could see the little girl running but could not see her and it was dangerous ,her daughter could have crossed the road  from between two parked vehicles and been knocked down.
Mum laughed and said she was always doing it!
Lady is from Nigeria, is a Nurse and it surprised me how nonchalant and realaxed she was about it all,I was more worried than she was.

Well off to bed abd a good book.
Cheerio.zLook after yourselves .

Thanks Victoria, I hope so too! We are indeed lucky it’s a simple procedure that gives such great results.

Sadly I think one sees dangers around every corner as we get older and wiser.. little children running along pavements in trafficked areas can draw one’s breath in! They are unpredictable at that age with no awareness of dangers.. it’s a pity the mum couldn’t see that sane danger.. ah well there’s nowt so queer as folk !

Dull here today hoping the sun comes out this a/noon.

The mother should never allow a child in a street where traffic passes, and to just laugh with her comment was ridiculous,  a little explaining  to the child and to keep an eye on her wouldn’t go amiss

My son was in a computer “ meeting “and I was downstairs so it made sense for me to go. When I was back home he explained he had dealt with such a situation once only for the mother to behave as if he was a child abductor !
It was really to deflect blame from her, I suppose.
What a strange world!

Dull today and fresh.
Putting out my pills for next week to take with me.
Last delivery has missed out two heart drugs and one eye drop !
It always happens when  I am going away  .
I usually check them off when they arrive, why not this time?
So a day phoning and then dashing down in the heavy traffic ,it can take hours ,cars nose to tail, to the chemist to pick them up.
I can see us not going tomorrow or coming back early.

I get fed up with it all, travel is not  easy for oldies either by car or rail ,I do prefer the latter though.
It will work out somehow .
My suitcase from my last visit is at my daughter’s left in the basis my grandson was going to come up but work and car trouble stopped that .I can’t remember what is in the case at my daughter’s ——I brought home what needed washing , Itravelled by train and got assisted journey help ,I found that  quite easy.
Well must get on.

" sinned" Viktoria,  whatever for?

LM
Well we are supposed to be descended from Eve!
The Nuns held very strong old beliefs ,and remember it was Eve who tempted Adam!
In the old “ Churching “ ceremony women until fairly recently had to be “Churched “ before they were accepted  back in society.
It was really a thanksgiving for a safe delivery but became an admittance that they had sinned when at their  wedding they had made promises ——-
Also a remnant of the  Jewish custom of purification that Jewish women still have to observe I believe .
I don’t think many have it nowadays.
My m- in - law, would not let me in her house until I had been churched.
Superstition overtaking religion !
I looked at it as a thankyou for a healthy baby and that I was O.K.
Deaths  of new mothers was still in living memory in 1957.
Well must get on .Viktoria.

I'm a bit puzzled by this Viktoria - what promises are made in the wedding ceremony that would mean a woman has sinned if she gives birth to a child? Doesn't part of the ceremony say that marriage is for the procreation of children (or words to that effect)? And the promise 'with my body I thee honour' seems to be approval rather than condemnation.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying  but can't get my head around it.  ???

My tots all wore a harness and reins.  Even at early ages they often move like quick silver.   When OH was in the forces a tot vanished from a large popular and busy supermarket..  She had skipped along in front of both her parents to the main doors but when her parents walked through the doors their daughter had vanished never to be seen again.

Roll forward about three years and I was back in England listening to the radio when a military policeman asked listeners if they had any news or views on a small girl who had vanished (from the same store).  I 'phoned and said it was a copycat of a kidnapping when we were there spring 1966 so maybe they could gain some information from the previous incident.

Back in England I was in my bank queueing up (as you did in those days) when a little girl toddled in behind  a customer.  From both their attitude neither belonged to the other.  Then an old man pushed open the doors and looked around (for the child).  We both escorted the child out of the bank and the old gent indicated the direction he'd noticed the child coming from.  ( I thought it prudent to stay with the chap as he could very well have been accused of something he hadn't done.)  We retraced the child's steps and eventually a woman came out of a shop doorway obviously distraught - we'd found the mother of the unconcerned tot.
