1871 Census: John Freeman & family in Wolverhampton
« on: Sunday 17 August 25 12:41 BST (UK) »
I was sent the attached record of the 1871 Census in Wolverhampton.

I have been unable to locate the Census form on Ancestry.com.

How do I locate the relevant Census return using RG 10/2938 for Wolverhampton?
I have no luck in locating it.

All help appreciated.

Certainly 2938 covers  Wolverhampton, shame no Folio number or page number. Cannot find any childrens births in Wolverhampton with common mother's maiden name, or any Freeman's in Dudley Road with forenames that fit that image posted.

2938 covers the Southampton Street area of Wolverhampton - on the opposite side of town to Dudley Road. I can't see any Freemans there.  Can't see this family in Dudley Road either (or anywhere in Wolverhampton).

On Ancestry go to Census and Electoral Rolls, select 1871 U.K. Census Collection on the right hand side, then scroll down to the bottom and select 1871 England Census.  Type 2938 into "Piece" and you will see all names for 2938.  If you click on any image then go back to page 1 you will see the enumerator's walk.
Robbins - Wolverhampton.
Spooner - Monmouthshire & Wolverhampton.
Warner & Loundes - Dudley/West Bromwich.
Dod(g)son - Heysham/Liverpool/Wolverhampton

They are very well hidden!
I cannot (yet) find this family on Ancestry or FindMyPast.
Searched piece 2938 for the surname Freeman - no hits at all.

Could you ask the person who sent you this to please supply the folio and page number to complete the reference?

Yes as JenB says would be helpful for the person who supplied this to give more details.

Could it be a different year to 1871 by any chance  :-\. Do the ages match your Freeman family for 1871
