Richard Freke

Hi Everyone!
I'm researching some ancestors of mine, and have reliably reached quite far back. I'm trying to find out some information about an uncle of an ancestor - Richard Freke. From what I know, he was the "Lord of the manor" of Meare. And he left this manor to his Nephew - John Shuckburgh (My ancestor) and niece - Henrietta Maria Arthur. I have learned this from a local historian - and through a much later newspaper article stating John inherited from his uncle. This inheritance would have happened C.1720s. John died in 1739, in which in his will, he left the manor to his widow. I have this will.

What I'd like to know, is more information about Richard Freke and in which way was he Shuckburgh's uncle. Because that could help me go even further back on this line. This may be a far shout, but if anyone has any info, or any tips to dig further, I'd appriecate it. I have tried to find a will for Richard Freke, but no luck as of yet.
Thanks!
- Kai

Can't help with your question about how he was an uncle, but have you seen this?

Thanks for the reply!
I have seen this and thank you for reminding me, as there's a few names here which could help. It doesn't mention exact ways they're related but along with Richard Freke - an earlier William Freke and a Robert Freke were mentioned to do with Meare and its manors. They are probably related - whether that be sons or brothers I do not know. I shall continue searching.
