I am trying to find when Audrey Evelyn Wright returned to UK in 1944.

She was a passenger on the Godfrey B Holt from Liverpool to Syria sailed 16th April 1942 Occupation Civil Servant, last address 28 Harcourt Terrace SW10.  She married Adrian Gardner in Aug 1944 in Beruit.

I understand she came back to UK late 1944 as she was in Somerset in January 1945 but for the life of me I cannot find when she actually returned.  I am told by her descendent that Adrian Gardner did not return to UK with her but that is unconfirmed.

I would be grateful if anyone can find her.

Thanks

Slightly different date/details included in your previous post-
I am after Audrey Evelyn Wright b 1911 Exeter and d. 1991 Honiton.

She married Captain Adrian H Gardner in Beruit Syria (as it was then) on 14 Aug 1943. This is from a newspaper notice.

He disappeared and she never saw him after the war.

Any ideas on finding any more about him?

I am not sure what regiment he was in nor any dates.

Thread is NINE pages long!
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I haven't read your previous post  but reading this one - the first thought I had was that she would have returned to the UK as Gardner - not Wright.  She also died as Gardner - not Wright

If your previous lengthy post had not been identified - a lot of time could have been wasted looking for entries under Wright.
