Divorce record?

Hi - I'm trying to find more information on Elizabeth Jean Rose (b1925, Edmonton) who married John Robert Athelstan Clark in Hertfordshire, July 1956. I believe they had 2 sons and a daughter - the sons at least look to have been born in Glasgow.
Robert died in 1992 - I accessed his will, which refers to his wife as Rosemary.
I believe he married Rosemary Lingley in 1980.
I also have the will of Elizabeth's father, in which he bequeaths items to his daughter 'Jean Clark'. This is dated 1983.
So she appears to have still been alive at the time of Robert's second marriage.
Can anyone give advice on how I might find a record of divorce?

A copy of the marriage cert will show his marital status  (ie) widower/divorced

Are any of the 3 children still alive?  Can't you ask them if there was a divorce?

They likely are, but I haven't found any information on where they live, etc.
And it's not my family tree, doing work for someone else, so on a time schedule and just wouldn't feel appropriate to contact them.
