Every image had to be resized to meet the message board requirements.
All very rushed and late at night, but hopefully you will find some of it interesting. Still have some local newspaper articles and Probate records if you want them.

This is amazing Gwynne. We never thought we would uncover such material about our ancestors. Thank you once again for your kind help. We were wondering if Albert Avery Osborne had been killed during the Boer War. We had some articles from the Bridgnorth Journal in 1900 describing some of his experiences of the war to his father. Since visiting Bridgnorth we have now managed to find and procure a silver pocket watch made by Joseph Osborne in 1877, it has his name and town engraved on the watch mechanism.

Hi Keith,

Glad you found the photographs interesting.
Yes, the memorial headstones are in Bridgnorth Municipal Cemetery.
If you wish, with a few days’ notice, I could meet you there to show you the locations of any graves.

As regards the OSBORNE name on the watch. Many others will be far more knowledgeable than me on the subject, but I personally doubt if OSBORNE actually made it. I understand that clocks and watches were manufactured in specialized factories and retailers such as OSBORNE just put their name on them.

As regards OSBORNE on the photograph. If you assume it’s Joseph OSBORNE stood in front of his shop in the other photograph, he has a beard. Only two people on the bowling club photograph have such a beard.

Below are some articles from the local newspaper, the Bridgnorth Journal. The title of each image provides the publication date.
