Osborne's of Bridgnorth
« on: Saturday 09 August 25 18:03 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to locate the burial location/details/photographs of some of my ancestors who lived there in the late 1800's. Joseph Osborne and his wife Helen ran a jewellery shop at 24 High Street, Bridgnorth  and they had three children, Albert, Clara and Helen. Joseph died in 1916 and Helen died in 1928. Does anyone on this forum have any information about these people to share with me please ?

Hi ??

It’s your lucky day.

In 2016, I was part of a group who were approached by an old lady who previously worked in OSBORNE’s shop in Bridgnorth. She was interested in their family history.

I still have on file;

15 photographs of memorial headstones (although some are duplicated and a close up view) including the people you mention. There are only 5 OSBORNE’S buried in the Municipal Cemetery plus some connected CHAMBERS family.

9 newspaper articles about their shop and events.
7 Probate details.
A dozen or miscellaneous articles.
A relatively small family tree showing approx. 33 descendants of William OSBORNE and Eliabeth, the parents of Joseph.

I’m under pressure to complete two other Bridgnorth family trees I’m working on. However, during the next week I’ll review all the above and let you have it all. There were also over 80 emails involved.

Regards,
Gwynne Chadwick

Welcome to Rootschat

Both Joseph & Helen left wills.  Copies can be downloaded for £1.50.  There may possibly be something about burial but no guarantees

Joseph died 20.2.1916 @ 24 High St Bridgenorth & Helen died 15.3.1928 @ same address

With the dates of death you could ring the Records Office to see if they have a record of their burials
