Just looking at 1905 census for Thomas.
Year of immigration here is 1852, which conflicts with 1900 census

His daughter Mary is with him, but is recorded as wife.

Hi Neale Thanks for that.  Strange coincidence Elizabeth Pickering, nee Whitaker sister of Thomas arrived in NSW in 1881 on a ship called the "Orient" from what I can find.

That needs confirming though.  Strange.  Possibly a different ship as it is a gap of nearly 30 years.

Thanks for your time as usual.  Regards Dianna

Sorry made an error.  The "Ocean" was the ship that Elizabeth arrived on here.  Dianna
