I know the feeling L.M.
Best wishes for the fete L.M. And hope you get some help.
Have been in church at midnight setting the Christmas Fair  up all on my
own ! Doors locked .
Hubby walked down to see where I was and was I safe .
Every one else had left but I had been given a lot of candles ,famous brand, novelty ones and Christmas ones .To make way in the shop for new stock.
I am so glad I did not have to walk home alone, it was silly but I wanted it all set out well.It was a very generous donation.

Well off to see my sister tomorrow, she will no doubt  comment on my much altered appearance!
Her daughter and family are over from Australia.
Well thanks for  your news  and glad L.M.is O,K.and thanks Roobarb for the new Diary .
Cheerio.
Viktoria.

Thanks L.M.
Well it is to be a barbecue ,they live in Australia ,I am not a fan but there will be lots to eat, my sister is a good hostess.
It is more about seeing them all.
I am a bit  nervous as I don’t look very like my old self and they are all very blunt and not very tactful and it is years since my niece was over so great changes in me not for the better.
But never mind , I can’t alter how I look
So thanks again . Cheerio.
Viktoria.

I get myself  psyched up to answer but never do ,it seems so impolite and I only see her a couple of times a year so not worth the upset.
But of course that means she gets away with it every time.

She has the problem if she needs to do it.

Well got a hair  appointment at 11-45,just a blow dry, it looks so much better when  done by the hairdresser.
My hair is mingled very dark with lots of silver now.I wish it would all go silver .I daren’t have a perm as it us brittle, medication side effect !

Well great excitement yesterday ,lots of trouble re parking ,someone sent an anonymous request for more consideration ,but unless you have a dropped kerb you have no automatic right to park outside your property unless you have a dropped kerb, I believe.
However some disagreement ,in public ,led to blows !!!! Police called and the pugilist has broken bones in his hand ,why he got involved is a mystery because he has a dropped kerb and drive kneading off the pavement  to his garage. He is never blocked in.
I don’t know how I stand all the excitement!

Well must get on.
Cheerio ,I must look for my passport ,might need it to get in to Wilmslow from  the violent dark alleys of Ramsbottom  !
Cheerio .Viktoria.

Enjoy family time Viktoria and as you say, have to make the most of it being irregular get-togethers and not let irritations get in way ... easier said than done of course and you know you'd like to give as good as you get  ;) ... you are as you are and looking fine in your new 'do'  :)

A good day all ways hopefully for the fete too LM.

Catching up with computer stuff unusually for a Saturday morning before having to be out and about again later. An extra bit of running around yesterday with an unfortunate product issue. Having purchased new bed, very happy with, decided on some new bedding and selected a nice comforter set = no duvet  to grapple with and design info for super king or king size beds. Staff at store made a point of mentioning that no refunds or returns on bedding items and policy was written on docket and happy with that and choice and a great sale price. Also picked up a new set of good quality sheets while store had discounts, very aware of sizing for fitted, all carefully compared with what was written on packaging and *super king size dimensions. Followed instruction to wash sheets before use, didn't I  ::) and then when hung on line saw this tag that said king and on checking dimensions on another tag in tiny writing, top and bottom sheets were indeed king not super king and that last corner would not go over mattress!! ... Anyway, calm approach but all set to be assertive if need be at the nearest branch of store, not the one I purchased at further afield .... and all very good and apologetic, never happened before to their knowledge and gave me a replacement after opening new packaging to check  :) They would let their consumer services know in case of further issues and wrote off the one I first bought, very pleasant and also customer satisfaction  :)
I do normally check tags and such, especially on a hanger but size label on actual sheets I hadn't read and obviously wrongly packaged.

Showers about but brief between sunshine, a couple of heavier ones last couple of days, mild for time of year but think a wee drop in temps in offing over next few days, noticing the day time light increasing too though  8) Have a good weekend all ...

Good morning folks
Well I was up before the crack of dawn, once awake I usually get up, got the fete on my mind.

Had the hall all planned with the new fund raising  leader and low and behold someone has to have a moan, it was the old leader who just won't let go , sorted that out, did a lot of to-ing and fro-ing backwards and forwards from church to the hall,  was a bit of a slog as it is on an incline, anyway should be all sorted for today, weather, a bit to hot for me but it will, hopefully bring people out, got lots going on.

What a shame you had to sort out your bedding but a good result Mare , these mistakes happen, I always go in  with a softy softly approach, works better than all guns blazing as they say, gets better results, my husband prefers sheets and blankets.

Viktoria, enjoy your day   be as you are, I am sure you could give as good as you get in your usual happy manner.

Well I was up at 05.40, why wasn't everyone else, !!.

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing..
LM

Hope all goes well LM. Had our share of fetes and bazaars and such like with junior school and Lions and WI and Church activities for many years. Now I just sit back and let someone else get on with it, although I must say that such activities in our Church do not seem to happen with such vigour and frequency as in days of yore.
Having said that, the church which I now attend locally, rather than trotting into Bath every Sunday, is very active. Most of their social/community output involves some sort of in-house catering which gets the punters over the church doorstep to a very warm welcome!
Just off to Coffee and maybe a bacon butty with fried egg!

Perhaps we all know someone who tries to 'get under our skin' to annoy.... are they jealous; or just like to be centre of attention; they may be very unhappy or not too well.  When all else fails to sail on smooth waters, you can try a number of ways to navigate with your cantankerous shipmates.

If they are complaining unfairly about what you have.... or haven't done. Smile sweetly and say in a voice that anyone near can hear....."Did you spot today's deliberate mistake?' It can be taken any way they wish to accept it. Acknowledgement they were right; or send up that you are trying to wind them up?

Or how about...."Good job I'm not in the Dock in the `1800's !"  Make out of that, what you will.......

Perhaps....  "What did your last slave die of?"

"What did Horace, say Winnie?"   or "What did Winnie say, Horace?"    But always with a sweet smile.

"Would you close the door, when you go out please?"

(just a small sample of a large arsenal of ammunition that doesn't kill, or cause wars, but maintains peace on my terms )

It doesn't take too long before they realise that you aren't capitulating, bending or being intimidated by their actions, talk or attitudes. If it's always said for others to hear, (and without anger)...  It's no fun for the Agitator - as they don't get the response they are looking for in Company; but it can be entertaining for the onlooker, without it looking as though the Third World War is going to erupt.
It keeps your blood pressure down.  Gets them off your back for a quieter future...They then avoid you.... instead of you looking for a quiet spot for a peaceful life.

When I see an Agitator, I actively seek them out, to be in their orbit and striking distance...

so THEY can move away from me.... then I know I have achieved what I set out to do, on previous encounters, and  I know that my PROBLEM SOLVING TECHNIQUES. have worked.

PRIOR PLANNING PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE.   Cheers.   Have a good day and keep smiling. They will wonder what you are going to do next.  :D ;D 8) :-*
