William Ford

Can anybody help pls i have Joseph William Fords (1914 North Shields) father as being William Ford who married Margaret Jane Nicholson Elliot but the 1901,1911,1921,1939 census some state William Ford date of birth as 1881 and some 1897 i believe it to be 1897 and have ended up muddled as it could be i have 2 different familys here and made an error could someone be kind enough to check this over pls

Whilst not impossible, an 1897 dob for William would make him only 16/17 when Joseph was conceived

1921 has William as 39 y 11 m, which matches an 1881 birth date

The WWI records of William who married Margaret Jane Nicholson Elliott and had a child Joseph William in 1915 survive. this suggests his dob is 1884

I'd be tending to the earlier date of birth

Found him on 1911 at the same address in Percy Main as his attestation papers aged 29.

He's born Gateshead

1939 gives a date of birth in 1881

thank you Mabel, I have him on the 1939 that makes it a bigger muddle  as i had Williams father as Robert b1871 that would of made him around 10yrs old when he had William looks like i will have to go through it all and find 1901 and 1911 .......thank you
