Keith, I started having a look at yours, but I can't work out those beams on the left hand side.
At the top the long beam going behind the tall man's head seems as though it shouldn't be there--you can see the slats through the beam--but lower down a man seems to be sitting on a beam that seems to join up to the ones that are questionable. Can you tell from your original where those beams should and shouldn't be?
Then I'll have a go.
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Peter
The beams have always been an issue for me. I did wonder if they are an imperfection that occurred when the photo was developed. They do not add anything to the image (just confusion). Are you able to remove them - both horizontal and vertical?. I think the man on the left is actually sitting on a chair so that beam could also be removed (if possible) just leaving the wooden bucket.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Regards
Keith

My Try
Just a little bit of colour added to a B&W to liven it up a bit and give it some character, but still keep the old picture appearance.

Super stuff RJ137 - the touch of colour also helps bring out their faces.

Many thanks
Keith
