Has any one found a poss better tool than Gimp or Pinta to take images from
parish records etc.
Pringle..N-yorks. Swann..Nthamptonshire. Newman..Wilts. Whites...Surrey/london. Filce..London/surrey. McCarthy...Co Cork Eire.

Never heard of either!
I just use the camera on my phone.

Personally, I use Irfanview.

Likewise, camera phones give excellent images. Easy to download images to your laptop / PC etc.

Might try the phone way seems quiet good when as one does transfer photos
to ones computer for keep sake, Irfanview that's a new one on me nothing ventured

Just out of interest, if you are running Windows, what about the included Snip unless you want to edit them?
