England Jurisdictions 1851 Maps
« on: Saturday 02 August 25 13:02 BST (UK) »
I'm sorry that the FamilySearch Wiki map feature is now not in use.  :( :'(

As they say:"FamilySearch recently upgraded this map to new technology to ensure it can continue to perform efficiently.........and is testing an updated version. The former version is no longer available because it was on technology that can no longer be supported."

OK, but what a nuisance!! I find it especially useful when looking for neighbouring parishes etc. Can anyone suggest an easy alternative, rather than just Googling for a particular place?

Have you tried National Library of Scotland maps?

maps.nls.uk
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Shaun, thanks for your reply.
I will wait until the next version appears - the interim one does nothing for me!

BumbleB, thanks also your post. I'm thinking of alternatives, like the one you've suggested.

Thanks for your suggestions Spelk and David N.

I just found the old FamilySearch maps so easy to use, especially to find contiguous parishes etc!

C'est la vie  ::)
