iFamliy for Mac still supported?
« on: Saturday 26 July 25 04:32 BST (UK) »
All,

I use iFamily for Mac, and recently upgraded my Mac. The app no longer works. This happens with each Mac software upgrade, and is fine, because an upgrade for iFamily is pushed out to ensure it continues to work.

However, it appears that the website (ifamilyformac.com) is down.

Is anyone aware of whether the app is still operating and supported? All my data is on the app and can't be extracted to move across to another program.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi :) yes unfortunately it looks like the iFamily website and forum are gone.
it was just one person (Warwick) looking after the updates and maintenance.
I have the latest version of MacOS and although I get a message to update, the program still works perfectly for me for now..
I choose 'check for update' then wait a minute and it opens.
If you can get into iFamily that way on your Mac , you can export a .GED file that you can import into any other genealogy software. I hope this helps.

Thank you so much. I wish/hope they'll do a GoFundMe, or sell the software to try and keep it alive. I have saved my GED file, but I love the association of image files and worry about that loss of all the images.

I just made contact with Warwick on Linkedin to prompt him when we have update issues.
