Note that it's a very long way from Crossmolina to Oughterard.
Maybe 60 miles as the crow flies!

Had more to add but had to deal with something offline. In addition to what heywood has added- the 1917 Pension applicant was not only found in the 1851 census but was 80 years old or older in 1917 (otherwise it would have been noted on the form that he wasn't found).

This is why I uploaded the documents just to clarify if they were the same family.  Its been along old day, and sadly sucumbed to brain fog today.  Nothing is going in and coming back out in a sensible format  ::) :'(

Correct.  In Ancestry it is written up as Hannigan and I think it states Flanagan.  Looking at it though Flanagan is mentioned repeatedly so am a little confused.  The father looks like Pate or Pete pr possibly Patt.  Mother is mary Flanagan, then I think it says Martin then Flanagan is mentioned a few times. 

Oh dear I just looked at my upload and done the wrong screenshot.  God its a bad day!   Hope that makes sense

Thank you, I have re-uploaded the correct document.  I am calling it quits this evenng, thank you for the help.  Hopefully my brain will be working tomorrow x
