Looking at the grandchildren.
There is an 26 Aug 1810 marriage of a Catherine Leonard to a Michael Crake at St Peter’s Monkwearmouth

Baptism? 24 May 1792 Newcastle on Tyne, parents Isabella & James.

Added..all saints, dissenters. But note on the FindMyPast index says “ Dissenters and others NOT BAPT AT THIS CHURCH.”
Father James is a Mariner (fits with a Gosport marriage )

How did you find that? Did you go to the Durham records before entering your search terms?

Many thanks for all that - I have the will and the request for administration from 1830 - there is another from 1840 as well - there seems to have been quite a lot of inaction on the will.

Isabella Rowntree died 1821 and, you are quite right, Isabella Martin in 1830 showing her calculated year of birth as 1758 which is correct for her baptism in September of that year.  I can only conclude that the marriage in Gosport was the right one - quite a distance from Newcastle!

Thank you also for the baptism and marriage for Catherine Craig - I can now fit her into the tree!
