David Blair Wilson
« on: Monday 21 July 25 12:45 BST (UK) »
David Blair Wilson b c 1830 Stirlingshire, John Wilson b c 1828 are unmarried brothers. They are in Wrexham in 1878 as pub landlords.
They are in 1881 and later census in Wrexham .They both died in Wrexham.

The only clue I have is this in 1878 but no idea which one it refers to. It has been edited. it is probably  David Blair Wilson.
THE ROYAL OAK LICENSE.—it was stated that Mr Wilson, who applied for the endorsement of the licence  had been a member of the Edinburgh Detective Police Force. This was an error, and arose out of a statement made that Detective Hayes, of that force, had known Mr Wilson for some years, and could testify as to his character .

I am trying to find them before they came to Wrexham but not having any luck.
Did they come from Scotland to Wrexham or had they been somewhere else.
Thanks.

Probate entry mentions he was of the Walnut Tree Hotel Wrexham and names as Executors

James Blair Mc Lean printer nephew
Annie Wilson niece
Agnes Gillespie spinster

in case those names lead to anything useful
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Death for John Wilson 1889 - probate entry reads of The Royal Oak Inn High St Wrexham

David Wilson of Bridge House Inn Wrexham the sole Executor

None of which helps going back but adds some more pub names
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

I posted that one because in 1891 4619/108/19, his birth place is recorded as ‘Larbor’, Stirlingshire and the Edinburgh connection.
Also, he does have a sister, Margaret of the right age in 1841.
