A dear departed friend of mine always said " Never put anything smaller than your elbow into your ear" . Good advice?

My skin has started to burn very easily in the sun. Last week my left ear had swollen with sunburn. I couldn't get my finger in to scratch it. Similar to your description Viktoria. It is now well on the way to normality, thank goodness. I am well aware of my problem, and haven't been out in the sun until after tea time just for a minute or two. I would have thought the sun would have less effect as you aged. Live and still learn.  ;)

Why is that Jimbo?
Are you very fair skinned or a red head ,people of that colouring are usually very sensitive to sunshine .
Hope you are soon comfortable again .
Well I am off visiting today ,the tiny little lady who had so many problems and eventually was admitted to hospital from  where she was transferred to a care home.
Her daughters were not  very supportive, but there are two sides  to everything aren’ t there .
Another lady who helped her ,has asked me to go with her to the care home this morning .We have had no news from her daughters but someone from The  Blind Society told the lady who is coming today they had contact with the care  home ,they knew she had helped the person we are visiting.
I have a little store of presents for times like this so have chosen a soft
shawl,a big one like a wide scarf, she is so tiny and thin so will feel the cold .
It has a fastening so it will not trip her up if she stands .
Well .look. after yourselves .
Thanks for your news.
Viktoria.
Just back from visiting ,the lady was O.K. Sadly she had forgotten the lady from The Blind Society, and me too.
The lady we were visiting said her hearing aids were not working ,so I asked an attendant to have have a look , and would she try fitting them ,she agreed and hey presto ,the batteries were in wrongly ,so corrected and they worked ,they had been the wrong way round !
We stayed 90 minutes and got the lady laughing .
She likes her shawl/ stole ,I embroidered her initials on the end so hopefully it won’t get lost.
She was wearing clothes much too big for her ,but said all clothes were “communal” they were certainly much too big for her .
It was enjoyable and we had some good laughs —-especially when she asked who told us where she was.
I said Father Christmas had told us ,” Oo you are daft!”

But so many people just snoozing the time away , very sad.

A Pale sun is shining and it is quite fresh.
Need to make a cheese and onion pie for tea, so Cheerio .
Viktoria.

Some medications leave the skin susceptible to sunburn, Jimbo.  My red-headed brother lived for several years on a boat in the Caribbean and suffered very badly from sunburn on his face and ears.  Cover up, if you can.
