I don't think I have ever weighed myself with the washing to determine the weight of a load  :) just did more loads with family and the cycles weren't so long as the more modern machines. Just the two of us now mostly and easy enough. I have had an unbalanced load, probably more so with one heavy item though but my machine recalibrates well with a little extra time and I do a separate towel wash without too many issues ... or tissues, which were my nuisance often, myself to blame for that with tucking them up a sleeve!

Impulsively purchased a new bed at the weekend, now have to get other one taken away and store it until then, delivery of new one end of next week but we'll be away in the meantime. Another super king size but doesn't have the one massive mattress on the 2 bases but 2 separate ones that zip to one, seemed a practical option for moving it about  :)

Lovely days here this week for washing or gadding about  8) ...

joining the conversation late . not much to say about washing ...full load waiting for less threat of rain ...tho i could always hang indoors if it doesnt brighten up tomorrow.

*KG I like the idea of 8 weeks free gym ....mostly for the swimming pool .& spa  im not sure where my nearest is .

i ve been  allocated housing benefit and it will be backdated to april ...payment next week . after months of counting pennies and scrimping on food . im tempted to treat myself to a spa day .

i love saunas & jacuzzis and feel they do a lot of good for muscles  & relaxation

Quite a bright day here, nice and sunny now.

Have ordered some new clothes ,from a little catalogue, and a nice surprise was they were all with reductions,so I got another item ,so a summer dress, a nice skirt and two summer twin sets of T shirt and three quarter length sleeved cardigans .

Have been sorting out a drawer full of little things of sentimental value only.
But they are so hard to dispose of. I am putting little notes in so whoever sorts my things out will know what they are and why they have been treasured.
My children never really knew my mother, she died when my first son was only five months old.

I never had a grandma, both died years before I was born ,no Nanna to seek refuge with from my mother’s wrath (which  I usually deserved .)

Need to decide what to do with my hair, it is in poor shape ,many of my medications have side effects that damage and weaken hair .
I will get a wig, like Dolly Parton’s ,but will stop there -none of her other attributes !

Tasmanian chicken for tea .

Well done England’s Football team ,final on Sunday.
An exciting game yesterday.

Hope are all safe and at least comfortable ,as many have challenging health conditions .
Cheerio .Viktoria.

You must have kept the nice weather in the west Viktoria, we've had drizzly rain most of the day, although it hasn't been cold.
Perhaps your hairdresser will be able to give you some advice on what to do with your barnet?  :)

Personally I'm sick to death of the TV schedules being taken over by sport. I suppose it's an easy win for the channels (pardon the pun!) but it's not fair on those of us who have no interest in it.

Yes a pleasant day today ,mild but sunny.
Touch wood we have escaped the really wild weather some parts of the country have suffered.

Well today ,  just by the way ,my son said he would like a middle sized dog.
Not that we are planning to get one!

I am still missing my goldfish.

Still sorting trinkets and keepsakes ,oh dear such a sentimental old
noo- naa  I am.
A little set of ring stand ,candlestick and little bowl with lid that has a hole in the lid ,forvputting hair in from your hairbrush .
Must be 150 years old, so,pretty, rosebuds in a border.
Came from my auntie’s so must have been my paternal grandmother’s .
The one from Shropshire.
It will get chucked out when I am gone so it might as well make a bit of money for a charity -we have an Age UK charity shop so I will take it there.
Lots of diaries, like the one of the year we got engaged then the next when we married ,then when we  went to Belgium etc ,our  babies’ births and anniversaries.I used to write them every day .

Now I am on RootsChat every day almost .

My Delphinium has started sprouting again .The slugs had their evil way with it despite pellets which I don’t really like using .
It was down to ground level.
Well milky coffee time then bed and a good book .
Night night .Viktoria.

Slug repellent  I have used   beer in a pot, at least they die happy, so far although I haven't been on a serious  slug hunt I have only found 2, but now that we have had quite a bit if rain I fear they will  rear their ugly heads.

I am like you, I know things here will go into a skip, youngsters don't keep things like we have done because we are sentimental , it's a shame but that is the way it is.

I am sure your goldfish are being looked after with others  for company.

My mother kept a diary from the age of 15, I have then here strangely enough the year I got married and the year I was born not a lot was written,  she Di have a few gaps but I am sure it was when there was a bit of a struggle with the living conditions.

Having had a can't sleep night I am up early, won't last the day

Take care everyone

My father-in-law always kept a diary, mostly to record his business activities, but occasionally a bit of family stuff crept in.  We have kept one of them because it records the first day I was introduced to my husband's family at a Sunday dinner and he wrote about me: "seems like a nice girl".  From him, as I later learned, that was quite a compliment!

My diary just tells me about birthdays and appointments, so it's forward thinking rather than writing about stuff that has already happened.  I do, however, keep notes about the dates when various medical events took place, and the inner cover page has things like my NHS number and NI number, passport number, car reg and medication and the date we moved to our current house (for some reason that's something other bodies want to know)..

After having days of being almost completely deaf I had an appt at audiology,  couldn't help,    sent me to Specsavers, couldn't help so it was suggested I had my ears syringed, NHS   don't do it so I have just paid a very nice ex district nurse, success, the canals are narrowing  which causes problems, worth every penny it cost me, I am a happy bunny.

Don't shout at me please!!
