I honestly think my ear tubes, the external ones  ,are closing up.
I can’t get inside iwhen washing my ears ,even my little finger won’t go in.
There seems to be almost a blockage ,I know when the wisdom teeth are extracted that can happen and mine took so long to erupt,  there were
cavities   where the gum had not fully disappeared so impossible to clean the top surface properly.
They had to be extracted quite soon ,so my jaw has never really been fully extended and my ear canal is really closing up.
I can’t get even the tip of my little finger in the tube ,it is almost a right angle.I can hear O.K though.

A lovely day, mild and gentle sunshine ,pleasantly warm but not oppressive.

Hope it is so tomorrow.
Did a load of washing and the washer behaved ,however it is too late to hang it out  now so in the shed in a washing basket ,it will be cool there and won’t get smelly. On the line first thing tomorrow.
Well goodnight ,I am off to get washed for bed and teeth cleaned and an interesting book .
Viktoria.

Good morning  all.
Much brighter day today but thank goodness it is much cooler.

I feel so much happier I can hear much better but I think I will still go back  to the hearing  clinic.

Had an interesting  committee meeting for our forthcoming fete, we accidentally found stocks in the Rev's garage, he wasn't there but as a laugh we all said let's nominate him, we have found out since that for health and safety  reasons we shouldn't use them, would have been a laugh  I,    to myself, thought I would have a go , even sorted out the gear  wear, I wanted to be incognito,  think that is the word , but the problem was I would be needed to be back in the hall looking bedraggled, so, I don't have to think about it, might have been a laugh though, " who was this mystery person" ?

Viktoria  , if you can hear I doubt there is much to worry about with your ears, you could always use an oil if you are worried about wax, but you know your own ears.

Well must get on, another week almost gone.

Take care

LM

It's taken me a long time to catch on this week. My pet hassle with child-proofing is the car door locks, I get out from passenger seat, try to open rear door - OH bumbles with all the 100s of controls, and finally it opens. My window won't descend, either - it's "Me-proofed" not child proofed!

I know what you mean,  when my grandaughter was very tiny the car door locked, poor girl was petrified, think my daughter had only gone to the boot, she made sure I didn't happen again, frightening for a little one.,

Do take care with your ears - don't poke anything (cotton buds, fingers, etc.) into them as you may be pushing wax even further down.  Our GP surgery no longer offers ear "washing" on the excuse that the eardrum my be harmed in the process.  Some people swear by ear "hoovering", a suction process to extract the wax administered by trained professionals.   The ear is supposed to clean itself naturally through movements of the jaw in eating and talking, and you are supposed to have a little wax in there to protect the eardrum from dirt or dust.  A little olive oil (remember those small bottles that we used to buy at the chemist's for medical use in the days before that oil became popular in cooking and salad dressings?) helps to soften the wax and move it along the ear canal.   I do remember my mother warming olive oil in a spoon and pouring it gently into my ear if I had an earache, but a small pipette or dropper is better than a whole spoonful!

I  should have been £60   for wax  extraction, it  couldn't be done so she reduced the price to £25,   an ex district nurse,  now trained ,  came and syringed  my ears yesterday, £45, but as the NHS  won't do it anymore it was worth the total of £70,  BUT  not everyone has the spare cash nowadays.

Yes, no poking in ears, I can hear well too but occasionally a tickle means the only non invasive way to solve it is a wiggle with my little finger just in the opening ,but now it won’t go in even the tiniest way which was all that was needed previously .
Ooooh those bottles of olive oil, often on a card ,held in place by elastic loops.
Warmed up for earache and a bit of cotton wool put in the ear to keep the oil there. It did seem horrible that people would cook in such stuff.

I can remember my Mum telling us that a boiled onion still hit would be bound to the ear , as a cure for earaches.
My daughter when a small girl had an ear abscess ——gosh the gunge that came out when it  burst , on the way to the Doctor’s.
Dreadfully painful.
I had one just after I was born , my auntie took me to hospital as Mum was still in bed ,women had to stay in bed for about a week in those days .
It must have been a mastoid abscess as the cut to drain it
can still be seen behind my left ear.

So yes ,I totally agree no poking!
But what a “dear do “ £70,goodness me when you see young people in A&E needing surgery  after a drunken night out getting free treatment !

Cheerio. Viktoria.

I agree with you Viktoria, i sometimes watch A&E programs on TV  and see the ridiculous things they deal with when a trip to the GP   would suffice.

Some people don’t seem to have basic First Aid stuff nor common painkillers at home.
It beggars belief .
We would not go to hospital for some of the minor ailments treated in A&E nowadays.
What a namby pamby  lot .
