Hello,

Im trying to date and find out details of the attached picture for my dad.

We think its WW1. Is anyone able to help us confirm?

If anyone can tell.me anything about the image that would be great. Years ago I think I figured out which relative the image connected to. However, I cannot seem to find any of my notes!

Thank you in advance.

Laura

The hard peaked cap is WW1, it was replaced by the folding forage cap in WW2.
The puttees binding the ankles were also WW1.

Most likely WWI.
There would appear to be all around 130 men in the photo, so possibly a company (a unit within a battalion).
Photo perhaps taken prior to embarkation for service overseas.

Definitely WW 1.  Could you enlarge part of it and i might be able to ID the cap badge?

I'm visiting my dad today to collect the picture so will take another photo and enlarge it.

I put the image into Google Image search and it thinks its 326th infantry battalion from America. But I'm not too sure with that and not relying on that!

Definitely not the US Army. That's Googlesearch for you!
