Please can anyone help to track my 1st Cousin 5 x rem Robert James born in 1812 in Paul Cornwall . The only bits of info I have are that he was a master mariner at some point . There was a large family and his Son Llewelyn b 1849 in Flint Wales emigrated to Buenos Aires about 1875 with his family . I have no info of Llewelyn in Argentina . It would be nice to see the outcomes for this line of my family . Thank you .

Spotted a Merchant Seaman record on FindMyPast for a
Robert James, born 1811, age 24, St Paul, Newlyn - Captain (C) of the Cornubia 1835/1836 and the Susan '39.

Sound like your man?.
First record I've checked.

A 2nd record has a Robert James, Newlyn, age 33, Captain - the details are in code which don't identify the vessel etc.may not be able to.

Note - there's more than one Robert James about - care needs to be exercised!

thanks to you all for the contributions it is good of you to research Robert . i am not sure that the Cornubia and Robert are connected , some of the write ups for the Cornubia say it was built after 1835?. As for the newspaper articles , sorry but I could not enlarge them enough to read . If anything else of interest pops up , please send on the info . Best wishes to you all . Thanks..
