There were no rail routes going north from the Frankfurt area, due to objections from the Prussian Military.
Mittheim itself if on the Rhine, so it would make sense to at least start the journey by canal.
Through Koblenz, Bonn, Koln, Dusseldorf, Duisberg.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Thank you hanes teulu for the translation and links - I  have the book emigrants from Hamburg which has some great information
