We have a cousin, William Shelton Bradley Hughes, who was born in Canada in 1911. Sadly, both of his parents passed away in 1921, and one of his aunts travelled to Canada to bring him back to England. We know he attended Shrewsbury School, but unfortunately he died on 26th September 1926. He is buried in the family plot in Formby, and this date is engraved on the headstone. However, we have been unable to locate an official record of his death. We don’t know where or how he died, and although I’ve ordered several possible death certificates, none have matched. Would there be any reason why a death certificate might not exist or be difficult to locate?
