Graves St Nicholas
« on: Saturday 12 July 25 18:10 BST (UK) »
Hello
Can anyone help me please? I’m in Great Yarmouth, but only tomorrow. Some of my ancestors are buried in St Nicholas churchyard, which is huge. I wondered if anyone has access to tell me their locations so I can take a look and see if any stones still exist?
Elizabeth Fox nee Swash died 1916
Elizabeth Swash nee Newson died 1867
Willoughby King nee Money died 1877
Christmas Thomas Money died 1869
Susanna Money nee Church died 1854
Willoughby Church nee Dybol died 1822

Any help greatly appreciated as I am only here a short time! Thank you

If you're there on a Sunday, try to catch the vicar after morning service, he may have a list of the graves.  It's what I did in Lincolnshire when I was trying to find an ancestor's grave.  Otherwise, it's a slog up and down past all the graves to find any of your ancestors.  I've done that too, my husband went one way and I went another - that was in what used to be part of Lancashire.  I found my ancestors, plus a child that I knew nothing about.

I live near GY and was ironically in St Nicholas churchyard today. Although there is also the Old Cemetery and the New Cemetery to the south of the churchyard itself. They may be buried in either the old or new cemetery as many of their graves date from 1850 to recent.

Find A Grave has a list of Great Yarmouth and Gorleston cemeteries and churchyards.

https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/search?name=Yarmouth&locationId=&page=1#cem-2371134

I have looked at the transcribed memorials for Fox, King, Swash and Money names for the old cemetery, new cemetery and the St Nicholas' churchyard and no obvious results.
