R.A.I in 1932 - para 923 - Kings Regulations or something else?
« on: Wednesday 09 July 25 15:03 BST (UK) »
I have finally gained access to my grandfather's army records, not helped by him signing  up with a false DOB. He was posted abroad in 1920, ending up in India. Having originally signed up for  5 years, he signed on for 12 and then  21 years, staying in India.

In 1932  he was  "granted six months furlough to the UK under Para 923  R.A.I"

During this time he married  my grandmother.

We assume this was leave to visit home  as he had been abroad  more than ten  years.

Could  someone point me at the regulations para 923 please?

Thanks @ShaunJ, makes perfect sense when you think about it  :)

As he extended to 21 years in 1930, because his 12 years would  have been up in 1931,  I guess it was  only fair to let him have a visit home.
