Patricia Anne Johnson
« on: Tuesday 08 July 25 16:31 BST (UK) »
Hi I'm completely new to this so I apologise if I have posted in the wrong place or done something wrong. I am looking for more information on my grandmother her name was Patricia Anne Johnson but I'm unsure if she got married so the surname could be different. I don’t have much information but I was told she lived in the Tottenham/ Seven Sisters area I believe she worked helping people that had suffered from domestic violence she passed away in 2004 I think she was around 57 when she passed

Hello and welcome to RootsChat.

Sorry to see that you didn’t get an immediate response to this. I’m replying mainly to bump this up to the top again to give it another chance. I did have a quick look but I didn’t find anything obvious.

If you have any other information at all it would be worth posting it. How certain are you of the death date? Do you know approximately when in 2004 she died? Do you know where she was born?

Welcome to Rootschat

Unfortunately there were a great many people called Patricia Ann(e) born 1946-1948 who died 2003 - 2005

Only 2 have the surname Johnson but it's not possible to determine if that was their married name.  One died Yorkshire & the other in Bexley - Kent

Do you have other info about her - however small - that could help to trace her?

One thing to mention is that RC has a "no living persons policy" to protect peoples privacy so in giving any additional info - don't include the names of any living person

As she is the mother of one of your parents their birth certificate should give a maiden name as well as married name or was she single when they were born.

Thank you everyone for your help I don’t believe she ever actually married my grandad his surname was Lee. She lived in the Kent (Orpington) area up until 1988 her mother’s maiden name was broom. I know where she was buried and I have added a request to find a grave for someone to maybe photograph so I can see her exact birth date

If the child was adopted - have he/she applied to see their adoption records?

As has been said, find the birth entry for your Mum or Dad (whichever is her child as well as any of their siblings) and this will state her maiden name  (or not).

At the moment the most likely death would appear to be the one in Bexley.

One step at a time.

Hello
I know your grandmother is a very close relative so I'm trying to be extra careful to get it right but forgive me if any of the details of what I found are a bit out.
The one at Bexley does look right - Patricia Anne 26.8.1947 -19.4.2004 Bexley.
So thumbs up to Annette and Carol.

Her birth reg is slightly out Patricia  A Johnson Bromley Kent Sep 1946 mothers maiden name Bloom
5B 371 .However her younger sister born 2 years latter is mother's maiden name is Broom.

Her parents married March qtr 1945 Bromley   Peter Roy Johnson and Ms Broom.
(I'm not going to her give her mother's full name as it looks like she may still be alive ,as is the sister but her father has died.)

1939 9 Alderwood Road Woolwich
Albert F Johnson DOB 17.8.1892 solicitors enquiry clerk ex Police (actually Albert George Johnson)
Queenie D(oris) 28.8.1899 (nee Mills)
Peter R 7.2.1923 solicitors junior clerk.

Albert George Johnson married Queenie Doris Mills April 1919 St Andrews Plymouth .It was Queenie who was from Plymouth and Albert was from Dartford.

Peter had a twin brother John R Johnson mar qtr 1923 Plymouth. Presumably Queenie went back to Devon for the birth to be close to her mother Margaret ,as she and Albert were living with his family in Kent on the 1921 census.Albert was working for the Metropolitan Police. Queenie's father James came from Goldalming and was a coachman so there are no deep roots in the West Country.

It looks like Peter and his first wife divorced and Peter remarried and there was a family with his second wife. Marriage 14.3.1959 Woolwich to Sheila Ryan 18.5.1934-29.3.2017.
Peter died 3.8.2004 Southend on Sea Dob 7.2.1923 Plymouth.

Hope that helps .I don't want too post too many details in case on mention a living person.
But I think that may point you in the right direction.
