 Looking to find info on my fathers time in WW2
 
 We only saw him twice in five years....

 Any help would be great.

You may be aware that the service records for soldiers who served between 1921 and 1963 have now been transferred to the National Archives. There are over 9 million  records which need to be checked and catalogued so they aren't all immediately available. I suggest that you use this link https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-records-of-service/apply-for-the-records-of-a-deceased-serviceperson
to initially contact the Army Personnel Centre. They can then give you a reference code which will speed up the process of finding the relevant paperwork which is currently in store in the National Archives. Using this reference number you can then apply to TNA using this link https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/mod-closed-foi-request-step1 (if your father was born before 1909 there's a different from that you need to use).
Not doing the first step may mean that the second request will take much longer.

Hi Shaun.
I had found the Tracer Card in amongst a lot of old papers some time ago
but I am finding hard to read. Looking at the one you have kindly found it is more readable and I will hopefully able to read it better.
