« on: Friday 04 July 25 21:37 BST (UK) »
Hi!

Please decipher the name underlined in this old Welsh Document

I think the name is John Hugh in the text but the signature is John Hughes?

As always, all information will be gratefully received

Thanks!

"John Hughes" signed the document and the underlined "John Hugh" with the rest of the document was written by someone else.

I was writing when Wayne N posted.  Will post as written.

Yes, definitely John Hugh in the text and the signature ends with _ughes.

The first letter of the signature is odd, in the sense that the writer hasn't expended the effort he might have done to make it clear that he intends an H or h, or something else, such as a b or v.

However, signatures can be odd.
