Birkenhead Crematorium lookup
« on: Friday 04 July 25 15:44 BST (UK) »
Hi, I'm trying to find out the death and/or cremation date of Ellen Mercer Rawlinson (née Leech). I know she died in the Wirral, 3rd quarter of 1960, aged 62.
Ti also know she was cremated at Landecan (aka Birkenhead) crematorium and that records are available at Birkenhead Central library.
Would someone be able to look her up please, as I'm based the other end of the country?
Many thanks in advance,
Phil Jones

It looks as though the records are on microfilm.  To get someone to look it up for you they would really need a date of death unless the film has been indexed by name

There is a death announcement in the Liverpool Echo of 13th August 1960, which states that she died on 11th August

Thank you. I found it on British Newspaper Archive. I had been searching for Rawlinson, but I guess searching for "Ellen mercer" would have given a better result 🙂
I've now also found her husband's death notice and as a result established his birth date too. A very productive couple of hours!
