How long for certs to arrive from GRO Ireland?
« on: Wednesday 02 July 25 22:44 BST (UK) »
Can someone who has ordered certs from GRO Ireland in the past few weeks tell me how long it was from submitting application for a birth record from 1930s to getting the phone call to ask for payment? And then how long for the €5.00 copy to be emailed?

I filled in a form and emailed it to them. I had an auto response saying application received and that “We are currently experiencing a high volume of applications and as a result processing times are taking longer. Please do not send any reminders or follow up emails in relation to your original request, we will endeavour to deal with your application as quickly as possible.”

I wondered how long it is realistically to wait.

Also, how do I pay the 5 euros when I’m not based in Ireland? Can’t work out which card etc to use.

Any time I ordered it was for email copies and it was a matter of days.

Can I just check with you both that this fast response was using the emailed application form system sent to the GROonlinepayments@welfare.ie address? I did triple check that was the correct address and followed all their instructions—but I am on working day 6 with no response other than auto email reply. Perhaps it is because I am on a UK mobile, but surely they would email me if there was an issue with them calling abroad to get payment?

For the research room, the address i used was GROResearchRoom@welfare.ie

That was to order copies of entries from the registers from the staff in the research room.
