Trying to identify this chap

Bit of a long shot but does anyone recognise this chap or the reference to a sporting event that occurred annually between 1920 and 1927 where he appears to have represented New Zealand?

When I typed in "1920 to 1927 NZ cricket teams" to Google image this came up:
"The New Zealand cricket team in formal uniform for their tour of England in 1927" on a site called Stuff under the heading Why do Kiwi sports teams wear Black & White and when did it start? (scroll down about half way)

Not sure about pasting it here due to copyright ??? ???

The WIKI article lacks a photo for 2 players, one of whom is Ronald Henry Fox who was age 47 on tour.
I am the world's worst at identifying age from photos but feel the gentleman in the photo might be one of the more "mature" payers? But struggling to find a photo of said RHF.

Thought also might have been someone accompanying the squad in an official capacity?

Perhaps a much later photograph? The jacket does not seem to fit any more. A reunion or something?

I've taken a look at what photos exist of early New Zealand sports teams, and I feel sure that this unknown man was not amongst the photos of the NZ cricket teams of 1923 / 1925-26.

My reasoning is largely based on the style and tailoring of the blazers (jackets) they wore, which had quite distinct differences to the blazer worn by the unknown man.

1923 & 1925-26 cricket teams :
Blazer has  >
*  a wider white trim to lapels and front edging / tops of side and breast pockets.   This trim has been formed by adding ribbon / petersham, as an embellishment.
*  the "fern" emblem on breast pocket has the tip of the fern pointing downwards.

Unknown Man  >  *  his blazer has finer, flat piping, to lapels, front edging and side pockets, made of folded fabric sewn into seams as the garment is being constructed.
*   "Fern" emblem on breast pocket has its tip pointing  ^ upwards.

Of course this man may have been a solo representative (not part of a particular team)   ???  ;D
[He's a fine-looking "dude" whoever he is.   ;D ]
