According to Census Cecilia John nee Price /James was born in Brecknockshire around 1847

 Know that she lived in Cardiff in 1881with Edwin John abt 1845 born Llandaff with Edwin's stepdaughters Elizabeth James  and Edith Ellen  James (presumable her children with previous relationships)  and Son Miles John abt 1879 Cardiff , along  William Harry John in 1889
 No trace of Marriage certs
 Have all their birth records, Miles had mother Cecelia nee James 

Edith Ellen born had father John James butcher  and mother Sally Thomas and Elizabeth  had father John James  butcher with mother Cecilia  James nee Price
At screaming point and don't know what's happening

Did she not marry either of them

Can you find a likely birth for a Cecelia Price to start with

How old are Edith and Elizabeth James?  Would they appear on an earlier census that might help?

In 1881 Elizabeth is 6 and Edith is 5 so won't appear in 1871

Sally Thomas is a curve ball isn't it.  Could there be another Edith Ellen birth with the same names but the right mother

Do both the girls have the same birth address?  Was the mother the informant in both cases?

A 10 year gap?  What names are on William Harry John birth certificate dare I ask?

I see from the baptisms Edwin John was a butcher as well

Both Miles John (age 11) and William Harry John were baptised in 1889 with parents Edwin and Cecilia

Just speculating  ;D

In 1851 there is a Cecilia Price with parents William and Sarah living in Merthyr.  I wonder if the mothers maiden surname is Thomas  :-\.  There is a marriage in 1844 June qtr for a William Price with a Sarah Thomas amongst the possibilities - Merthyr reg district

Just noting there is a Cecelia Price the right age born in Brecon. Father is John, a blacksmith. Mother on baptism is Charlotte.

Not found with her parents in 1851, when John appears to be married to Hannah. She's with them in 1861


Also worth noting a marriage between a Cecelia Hall (father Isaac) and John James in Merthyr district in 1874. Possibly mixing up different couples here?

There was only one Edith Ellen born around that time parents John James and Sarah James formerly Thomas were living at 44 Havelock St St Marys
 Elizabeth James father was John James butcher and Cecelia James formerly price where living at 64 Severn Road Canton Cardiff
Found a Cecelia Price  1861 in Brecon castle street with father John price and Hannah
