Diary summary 6th July 2025
« on: Monday 30 June 25 07:20 BST (UK) »
Morning  folks, who would think July  is here so soon.

27 degrees on the house this morning , I am off to London later on and oh boy I  reckon it will be far to hot,  but hey ho, it is what it is.

Having helped to organise  a tidy up of the churchyard it seems everyone was very pleased, must admit it does look good, we have a village fete soon so we are out to impress, we have a new fund raising leader and this fete is hoping to be big, she has put her heart and soul into it,  it will be a success.

Keep cool everyone difficult as it it this heat.

Well mustn't complain,  but we do but I do prefer it somewhat cooler, my garden could do with rain,  my annuals aren't looking so good.

Spent all day yesterday weeding, as overcast despite heat. Shattered by end of stint. A jug of Pimms did a lot to revive me!
Don't think I'll be weeding today!

Gosh LM you’re brave tripping up to London today… take plenty of water! Hope you enjoy your visit..

Currently 29C outside here … would have loved to stay in the air conditioned sports hall all day as doing Pilates was lovely until we stepped outside!

Spent last week driving from Brighton and back in a day, then down to London and back in a day, finally to Cirencester for the w/e… all lovely trips but OH does all the driving and is looking forward to a rest this wk… until Sunday when we drive to London for eldest grandsons 12th birthday!

Our London trip last week was to see our youngest grandsons play his saxophone at the Albert Hall along with 1,399 other musicians & choirs to celebrate Ealings Symphony Orchestras centenary celebration. It was a magical evening and grandson was full of it all at 9 three quarters something he’ll remember for a long time as will we all.
Try and stay cool everyone today and although it’s lovely to have a sunny warm summer this maybe a little over the top.. pity those poor souls in Europe with 44+ ..a sign of things to come.

It's 28 degrees here on the North East Coast. That's nothing to me having spent the last couple of weeks in 35 degrees in the Med.  ;D Forecast down by ten degrees tomorrow.

You've certainly clocked up some miles Caroline, you must be so proud of your grandson.

Now 32C here so staying inside watching Wimbledon…. Already two retired through injuries not the best start for the tournament!

Glad you enjoyed your time on the med.. Hope you enjoyed your time there.

We are super proud of him, he wasn’t at all  overwhelmed by the experience which is great as it means it took it all in… our daughter organised a box for us all ( other grandparents too!) and she’d told him the number so he could count along and watch for us! Lots of big waves from him when we arrived and easy to spot with his blond hair!

Actually managed to mow the big back lawn, as I had an early start outside, whilst it was cool! Quite proud of myself,, although it's nothing like as well done as my OH would manage, were he able still to do it.
Then I resumed mega-weeding, well that's what it feels like. Also changed a double bed, and put a washer-load out. Phew! I'd have a rest, if I could only remember how to do that.
Decided it is "new" cats' official birthday today - 1st July. Had them since last day of last year, and they were almost 6 months, I think, then. So prawns were on the lunchtime menu.
