The above married Edward Charles Hammond in 1940 in Victoria but other than that fact I know nothing more about her? Edward died 14 May 1964 Ipswich, Queensland.

The Argus 18 April 1950 ( from Trove)
"Mrs Sylvia Veronica Hammond and son aged 2 1/2 yrs not been seen since Jan by relatives suffering from nervous exhaustion"

Not quite correct. A story appeared on 9 March 1950 but an apology was published on the 18 Apr.1950. Will not re-post articles here but searching for "Sylvia Hammond" (including the quotes) brings up both articles.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

If Edward Hammond only died 1964 & Sylvia married Hickey in 1959 they presumably divorced
