Robert Sanys of Rottington

Hi! Can anyone help with the following?

I have a Robert Sandys of Rottington, born circa 1533 and dying in 1585 having a number of children including a daughter Dorothy Sandys baptised at Saint Bees on 22nd November 1563. Dorothy married George Fletcher of Tallentire Cumbria.

A large number of pedigrees for this family list Robert Sandys wife as being Anne Middleton dying in 1574, daughter of a Gervase Middleton and his wife Margaret Kirkham?

Another pedigree lists Robert Sandys wife as Eleanor Skelton (daughter of John) who is also listed as dying in 1574?

There is also one pedigree which states that Eleanor Skelton was Robert Sandys second wife and not mother to Dorothy. Eleanors sister Janet Skelton had been the first wife of Robert Sandys brother Lawrence Sandys?

Any help to sort this issue out would be greatly appreciated and thanks for viewing!

(this may be a  daughter of another Robert as 10 years until next child Father Robert)

ANN wife of Robert buried 29 Apr 1574

There is a ROBERT buried 01 Sep 1585, Son of Robert
( possibly one born 1564/5)

Burial ROBERT Sands 28 Jun 1588*, abode Rottington**

Note all records have name as SANDS

Robert does not name children Gervase or Margaret which I find strange if his wife was Ann Middleton.

Lawrence likely married twice (they are on FreeREG)
Wife Jenet was buried 11 Nov 1578 Daug Jenet was buried same day

So I guess no one has the Marriages of Robert??

There is a JENET Skelton bapt 10 April 1548 Father RICHARD but her Sister ANN is not bapt until 26 Dec 1561
The Jenet above may have been buried also age 2 just after her Mother Jenet died 1550.


So Richard must have married twice but cant see either marriage with my resources

If Jenet 1548 survived then she would be only 16 when she married 09 Jul 1564
