Thomas Burton of Ashbourne
« on: Friday 20 June 25 07:55 BST (UK) »
I have recently identified the family of a DNA match which suggests Thoams Burton of Ashbourne who I noted in 1993 had a Will filmed by the then LDS, could be related to my Burton family of Bradbourne.

So I need help please in figuring out how to access that Will through FamilySearch. I cannot use the UK PapersPast as I am not a UK resident.

My notes have Thomas Burton, Ashbourne 1828/1827  Jan 7. But I did not note the film number.

I did later note the film numbers of 4 more Bradbourne and Ashbourne Wills but only hired in the 2 Bradbourne ones at that time of John Burton my 6x gt grandfather who died 1776 and another John Burton who died 1707.)

I did try to find the records in FamiySearch but failed so need help please.

I can add to this that I am hoping the the Will of Thomas Burton of Bradbourne might have information to confirm whether he was the Thomas born c1733 youngest son of John Burton of Bradbourne who died 1776. Thomas inherited the farm at Bradbourne.

The other information I am hoping to find from the Will is  whether Thomas of Ashbourne was the husband of Elizabeth and father of Edward b1771, Ann b 1774 and Thomas b1776. The latter is the potential father of the Thomas Burton of Ashbourne who belongs to my DNA match.

Thankyou Mckha

That is enough to eliminate that record as being for either of the Thomas Burtons of interest.

It was stretching a bit to suggest that Thomas Burton baptised 1733 was still alive in 1827 but his father John was 90 when he died, so not impossible.
