WW1 R.A.F. Photograph
« on: Friday 20 June 25 03:23 BST (UK) »
I would be very grateful if someone could remove the white lines and improve upon the over exposed portions of this photograph. I don't want/need anything too radical.

for interest they are

Left to Right
F/Sgt Lee
Sergt Kimpley?
Sergt Cheshire
S.M.Wood
Flgt Sgt G.A. Manktelow
F/Sergt Knight

Another good one.  Thank you.

Looking at Grandad’s record I realise this photograph is likely to have been taken after the war. Or at least very near the end. He didn’t  transfer to the RAF until 1st April 1918.
I do know that most of his war was spent working on biplanes (he was a carpenter & joiner by trade)

Nevertheless finding out about the others will have to be another project. (I can never understand why people say they have reached the end of  all the research opportunities their family provides. There always seems to be something coming out of the woodwork!

Hello

The RAF was formed on 1st April 1918 - that's why he transferred on that day.

Manktelow - a very unusual name - I have Manktelow cousins.
