Robert ARMSTRONG WW1 1921
« on: Thursday 19 June 25 16:56 BST (UK) »
ROBERT ARMSTRONG died on 31 July 1921 after serving with the Monmouthshire Regiment in WW1.He died in the Mercy Hospital, Cork but his home was in Porters Lane where he lived with his wife Annie (Nancy) nee Connolly. They had married in St Peter and St Paul's RC Church on 10 Aug 1917.
At the time of his death Robert was described as a Car Driver. He had been discharged from the army prior to his marriage in 1917. He had suffered from gas poisoning and this appears to have contributed to his death at the age of 31.
I am anxious to know where Robert Armstrong is buried.
Can anyone help.?

Hi

When Robert Armstrong married in 1917, his Father is named as John, a Labourer.

When Robert died in July 1921, he was 31, so born c. 1890

A Robert Armstrong was born in 1890, to parents John (a Labourer) and Catherine Armstrong nee Grant in Cork.  See - https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/cert_amends/cert_1890/1899556b.pdf

I’m not seeing either of Robert’s parents in 1901 or 1911 Cork census, but I see the 1900 death of a married John Armstrong, age 48 of 9 Horgans Lane, Cork.  See:-
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/deaths_returns/deaths_1900/05765/4629179.pdf

Although Robert’s 1917 marriage record didn’t mention John being deceased, could this 1900 death be Robert’s Father and might he be buried with him?
