Help in deciphering a 1709 Edinburgh marriage entry - abbreviations

Hi all,

I have a 1709 marriage record from an Edinburgh church and would be grateful for any help in
clarifying some obscure points in the register entry

I can read most of the selected entry:

George Miller, Smith,  Inndweller in [?] parish and Elizabeth Brockie [or Brodie] daughter of the deceased [?] Brockie inndweller in [?] parish

The marriage was in Edinburgh but what did the abbreviations for the Bride and groom's respective parishes stand for?

Could the parishes be connected to the S E cluster?

Looking at Scotlands People the marriage was within the Parish of Edinburgh and some other marriages on the register page posted lists people from other surrounding parishes with the parish listed in full - South Leith and Leswade (Laswade).   So could the initials relate to a persons place of residence within the Parish of Edinburgh - eg SE South East

Added - My OH suggests that the initial E stands for the Edinburgh parish - no idea re the forgoing squiggles

I wonder if its some sort of shorthand as the letters dont match any others in the letter for example E or G or C.  I thought maybe short for St Giles or something similar.  Maybe Scotlands people would know.

Brockie indueller in SE parish

At this time Edinburgh was divided into four parishes. The South East parishioners worshipped at the Tron Kirk.
