Not sure about that 1820 as a Elizabeth Coverley married Abraham HALEY 09 Nov 1846 St Mary the Virgin, Eccles
Father THOMAS a Labourer
Abraham a Stone Mason.

1861 Census Elizabeth HELEY is born c 1820 Manchester, Lancashire.
Abraham born Yorkshire

1851 we have;
Abram Heeley 27 Lodger
Elizabeth Heeley 30 Wife
John Heeley 2 Son

Maybe Elizabeth (1820) in 1841 (before her marriage
Thomas Coverley 45
Ann 40
John 23
Elizabeth  22
Isabella  20
Mary  15
Jane  2

Jane's mmn is Catterall.
There was a Christiana Coverley mmn Catterall born 1837, but died 1838.
Thomas Coverley married Ann Catterall on 15 Nov 1835 in Eccles. doesn't say  he was a widower. Can't find his first wife's death, but often found a child from 2nd marriage named after first wife if the name hasn't been used before. John and Isabella might be Ann's children who assumed Coverley surname.

Except Elizabeth married Thomas Kells 13 February 1831.

1841 Thomas has already moved to Liverpool, Elizabeth is still in Manchester with daughter Lizey  (Eliza) and son Thomas (aka William Thomas)

OR are you referring to the Elizabeth who married Abraham Haley.

There are two Elizabeths one b Blackburn abt 1814, one born Salford d/o Thomas and Christiana (poss nee Gardner). If you're creative with Coverley spelling there are more Coverleys and variants in Blackburn.

Okay thank you all.  Slightly confused here but glad for the help.  Going to have to read through this to make some sense of this.

So its possible Thomas and Christina are Elizabeth's parents because there is a pattern of baptising the children a few years after they were born?

But Elizabeth could have married someone else a Haley?

Sorry if we confused you but to me that Elizabeth bapt 1820 to me may have married Abraham Haley 1846.
Census has Elizabeth Haley born c 1820 Manchester.

Your Elizabeth is consistent as born before that.

Others may have another opinion.

Thank you Trish.  So the one that married Abraham Haley, is that the one with parents Thomas and Christina?

The 1820 baptism has a note showing they were from the parish of Salford.  Birthplace is Blackburn on census entries & birthyear seems consistent at 1813-1814

Thanks for this Carole

I can see only 3 male Coverleys born c 1791-1810 Blackburn on Census;
Robert c 1796
Robert c 1806
Thomas c 1804

Hard to find Blackburn bapts and only 1 that I see with my resources is NANCY Coverly ;
Birth   2 Sep. 1801 Baptism   1 Oct. 1801 Blackburn to THOMAS/ELIZABETH
She was buried 3 Jan 1802

So its possible that Elizabeth's mother may have been Elizabeth also who married a Thomas Coverley?  Although if they had a Nancy Coverley there is a 14 yr age gap between Elizabeth and Nancy which isnt impossible
